Equalities Policy

At RIDE NOW, we are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our operations. This Equalities Policy outlines our position and responsibilities regarding hate crime and disability equality, in accordance with the conditions of our license.

1. Statement of Commitment

RIDE NOW condemns all forms of hate crime, including but not limited to racist, homophobic, and transphobic language and actions. We are committed to fostering a working environment and providing services where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.

2. Responsibilities

- Staff and Drivers: All staff members and drivers are required to uphold this policy and actively contribute to creating a culture of tolerance and inclusion. Any instances of hate crime, discriminatory behaviour, or harassment will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.

- Customers: We expect all customers to treat our staff and drivers with respect and refrain from engaging in any form of hate speech, discrimination, or harassment. Any incidents reported will be taken seriously and appropriate action will be taken.

3. Reporting Procedures

- Drivers as Victims: If a driver experiences or witnesses a hate crime incident, they are encouraged to report it immediately to their supervisor or manager. Additionally, drivers can utilize the reporting mechanisms provided by Shropshire Council's Hate Crime Reporting system.

- Members of the Public as Victims: If a member of the public experiences or witnesses a hate crime incident involving our staff or drivers, they are encouraged to report it directly to RIDE NOW through our designated reporting channels. Alternatively, they can use the reporting mechanisms provided by Shropshire Council's Hate Crime Reporting system.

4. Support and Assistance

RIDE NOW is committed to providing support and assistance to individuals who have been affected by hate crime incidents. We will work closely with relevant authorities and support services to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to address the situation and provide necessary support to the victim.

5. Review and Updates

This Equalities Policy will be regularly reviewed and updated to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
